We found out last week that we won the 2012 Brides Choice Award from Wedding Wire! We are honored that our clients took the time to vote for Memories Through Time and share their positive experiences working with us.

Wedding Highlights 2011

2011 was a year that did not disappoint. It was by far our most diverse year to date. We shot small intimate weddings (so small that we were the witnesses) all the way to huge celebrations rich in culture. We shot a double wedding and traveled as far as Hawaii for a destination wedding. Out of the 18 weddings that we shot, here are some of our favorites!

Dana & Javerro 12/31/11 - Arizona Grand Resort

I had the pleasure of shooting Dana & Javerro's New Year's Eve wedding just a few days ago. They are a stunning couple and SO in love! The setting for this wedding was very romantic with lots of candles, twinkle lights and sparkle. Everything from surprise fireworks and dancing late into the night, it was so fun ringing in 2012 with them!

Second shooter Eric spent some time with the guys and captured some great shots of them.

Dana surprised Javerro with a fireworks show right after they were pronounced. It was so exciting to be one of the only few that knew about it and see his face!

While we were outside, second shooter Eric was able to capture some great details of the reception!

You guys might recognize these folks, if you scroll down the blog you will see that they brought us with them last month to Hawaii when they tied the knot with a small group of friends and family. They recently had a wedding reception in their Phoenix hometown for those that didnt travel to Maui. Its been wonderful getting to know this couple and getting the privilege to document the beginning of what will be a long and happy marriage.

I have known the Gordon family for many years. Maureen is a photographer friend of mine, and a few years ago I was able to photograph their wedding reception here in Phoenix. They recently gave birth to their son Gage and their daughter celebrated her first birthday! These guys have their hands full with two little munchkins. I was so thrilled to be able to meet their new little guy and get some new family shots for them.

The importance of a second shooter

Alot of times when I am meeting with clients, they ask about what the second shooter does and how beneficial it is to have one. It's always wonderful to have a second shooter at your wedding for a number of reasons. The first being that it offers a second perspective. I love when my second shooters capture a shot that I wasnt able to because I cant be in two spots at the same time. Second, if time is running tight, we can be shooting in different places at the same time. Sometimes family and bridal party run late, and the photo timeline gets squeezed. I can be shooting the bride with her attendants and family while the second shooter is shooting the groom with his guys and family. Often I will have the second shooter go capture the reception details and set up while the guests are at cocktail hour and I am shoot the family formals and the bride and groom. All of the second shooters I work with shoot weddings of their own and are fully capable of shooting independently. Thirdly, it means you get more! You get more images, more angles, more of everything. Below are some shots that really emphasize these points. The first featured second shooter is Chadwick Fowler, the second Rien Moshiri, and third Chris Berger.

Tapal Maternity Photoshoot

Last week I met with this lovely couple to document their pregnancy. Amazingly, only two hours after our shoot was done they were in the hospital having their baby! Mahreen did awesome, and I know that they will make fabulous parents. Congrats to the two of you and your new family :)

I was so excited to hear from Jeff and Candace, because they had hired me several years ago to shoot their wedding. I ended not being able to do it because the wedding date was a couple days after my due date for my second son Nolan. I loved that they thought of me when they needed family photos. It was wonderful being able to see them again and meet their beautiful girl Jordan!

Erica & Brett were married at a private residence in Gilbert. After the ceremony we traveled to downtown Mesa for some colorful and fun shots. This couple came all the way from Alberta Canada to get married in the Arizona desert, and most of the guests came from Canada as well. Double the fun - Micah & Austin turn 1

This past week I was able to photograph little Austin who will soon be turning 1! You might recognize his parents - Wes & Jaime were married almost 2 years ago and I also did their maternity photos.

Micah just turned 1 and big brother Elias just celebrated a birthday as well! I shot them almost a year ago, and boy have they grown and changed. I am looking forward to seeing them again this spring when I photograph their aunts wedding in April.

New Products Part 2 - Square Flush Mount Album

The new square 8 x 8 flush mount album will be joining the other new products soon on the main website.
Here are the details about these beautiful albums: each page is a spread, so when you open your square album its a rectangle 16 inch spread. There is no gutter, so no part of the image is lost or cut in the binding. Each spread is adhered to heavy black cardstock, creating thick and heavy pages. Unique to this album, in comparison to other flush mount albums on the market, this manufacture offers a variety of six different paper finishes for the spreads and more then 33 cover material options.
The album pictured has art watercolor paper and a charcoal vintage leather cover.

Some of the new products that we will appear on the website soon arrived this week! The first one pictured is the save the date cards. They are a 5x7 flat card customized with your choice of text, colors and favorite engagement photo session images. The back contains a collage of multiple images, or it can have a back like the Thank - you card.

The wedding thank - you card is also customized with your choice of text, colors and favorite wedding day images. It is a folded 5x7 card and contains space inside for you to write a personal message.
